INDEPENDENT COMMISSIONING TEST

 

Vendor of each equipment (chiller, cooling tower, pump, etc) do the commissioning test is to confirm that their machine (system inside the unit) is work properly. But they not are able to confirm for overall system after their equipment combined with others.

 

We are expert to determine the approaching number of thermal energy, with measuring:

- Heat Transfer in water stream (chilled water, cooling water, heat water)

- Heat Transfer in air stream (DX AC, Aircooled)

 

 

 

 

 

THERMAL COOLING PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT (WATER STREAM)

 

Using Portable Ultrasonic btu meter and without stop the operation, we could measure;

- water flow meter, and

 

Using Clamp-On temperature sensor (to avoid downtime), we can measure;

- thermal heat transfer performance through water stream

 

Tap-In temperature sensor also applicable, but need downtime to install it.

 

 

THERMAL TRANSFER PERFORMANCE THROUGH WATER STREAM

 

Thermal/Heat transfer performance which used water as fluid for trasnfering heat, we can measure based on water flow and inlet-outlet water temperature.

 

To measuring water flow, there's several methods, as like follow:

- Using water flow meter device. There is some types of water flow meter;

    * Ultrasonic Water Flow Meter

       It is applicable for existing chilled water/water cooled system withoutdowntime.

    * Hot Tap Water Flow Meter

       It is applicable for new installation. The advantage of this device ismaintainable.

- Using the formula method to concluded water flow;

    * Balancing Valve Oriface Method

       The water flowing through the balancing valve oriface will drop the pressure. We can measure           the water flow with fomula based on pressure drop at balancing valve.

    * Pressure Drop of Equiment Method

       Based on technical data sheet of equipment, we can see the water flow and pressure drop

       which flowing through the equipment. We can measure the water flow with formula based on

       pressure drop at equipment.

 

 

 

 

 

THERMAL COOLING PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT (AIR STREAM)

 

Thermal/Heat Transfer at Air Stream, we also can measure based on air flow and delta air enthalpy.

 

Air flow measurement based on air velocity times area. Basically, fan performance will never change, unless it is using variable fan speed. If you don't want install permanently the air flow meter due to dimension, the proper commissioning of fan shall be conducted at each level of speed.

 

After we concluded the air flow, air enthalpy is required for energy heat trasfer calculation. Air enthalpy is measured based on air temperature and humidity which we can see at psychrometric chart.

 

We have the tools, hardware and software which can calculate the energy of heat transfer.
